This is the story of Icy, a psychic pokémon trainer from
Saffron City. He is 12 years old and is ready to set out on his pokémon
journey. He received an Abra for his 10
th birthday from his
parents and attends classes at the Saffron City Gym. He has been working
on training his Abra for 2 years now but doesn’t want it to evolve yet.
Sabrina, the gym leader in Saffron, told Icy that he should meet a pokémon
expert by the name of Professor Oak in Pallet Town. Icy decides the best
way to get to Pallet would be through Digletts’ Cave in Vermilion City.
Icy waves good-bye to his loving parents and sets off on his journey.
“Well Abra, let’s go!”
“Aaaabraaaa...,” replies Abra in a sleepy tone. Icy
recalls Abra to its pokéball and decides to pick up some supplies at the Pokémart.
He picks up a few pokéballs, some potions, and various healers. After
paying for the supplies, Icy departs south from Saffron City.
“So this is what non-city stuff looks like,” proclaims
Icy as he looks at the beautiful countryside. His psychic senses alert him
to a nearby pokémon. “All right! I sense my first catch is
near!” Just then, a Pidgey popped its head up out of the grass.
“Let’s go Abra!” he says as he releases Abra from its pokéball.
“Abra, teleport now!” Abra teleports behind the Pidgey.
“Alright Abra, hit it with your confusion attack!” Abra lets out a
psionic wave which makes the Pidgey start stumbling around in a dizzy manner.
“Pidgey, you’ll be my first catch! Pokéball GO!” Icy throws
the pokéball at the confused Pidgey. Pidgey is sucked into the pokéball
as Icy watches patiently. The ball wobbles for a second but then becomes
still.
“YES! I caught my very first pokémon. I wonder
if my new Pidgey can ever learn any psychic attacks. Abra, come back.”
Abra returns to his pokéball and Icy decides to take a rest while he enjoys the
scenery. “We’ll rest here, then set out across this grassland for
Vermilion tomorrow.” Icy’s pokémon agree and take a nap. Icy
thinks about all the new pokémon he will see when he gets to Vermilion City.
He decides to set up camp since the sun has already begun to set. As Icy
watches the extraordinary view, he thinks about his parents and friends back in
Saffron City.
