Chapter 1
One day, a boy named Justin was riding his bike down a path from Viridian City
that led to a small town called Pallet. Pallet Town is where Justin was
born and raised. He loved how peaceful and quiet it was there. As he
arrived in Pallet, he saw the electronics store was having a sale on video
games. He put his bike outside of the store and walked in. As he was
looking around, he saw a TV display that had his dad’s friend, Professor Oak,
talking about some kind of journey. There were pictures of three pokemon
that he had never seen before behind Oak. One looked like a dinosaur with
it’s tail on fire, one looked like a blue turtle, and the last had some sort
of plant on it’s back. Oak was talking about a new group of
ten-year-olds starting their pokemon journey tomorrow and getting their first
pokemon from him the next morning. “Hey Justin”, said the store
manager, Ron. “It’s getting late and I’m closing up. You’ll
have to come back tomorrow morning”. But Justin knew where he was going
to be tomorrow morning.
Chapter 2
As Justin pulled up to Professor Oak’s laboratory, he saw there was a huge
crowd of people around it screaming and cheering and saying “Ash, Ash, Ashy!
Yeah! Way to go Ash!” He walked into the lab and saw Professor Oak
typing something on his computer. “Ummmm, excuse me?” Justin asked.
Professor oak jumped up, startled at the visitor. “Oh, hi Justin!
You scared me there for a moment. People have been saying a group of
pokemon thieves has been making their way towards Pallet and I though you might
be them.” “I’m here for my first pokemon Professor Oak.” Said
Justin. “Oh, I’m sorry. A boy named Ash Ketchum just got my last
pokemon. I don’t have anymore. But I can still give you your
poke’ balls and Pokedex. Maybe you’ll get lucky just by throwing it at
a pokemon. I’m very sorry Justin.” Justin tilted his hat down
over his face in dismay. “Thanks any way Professor.” As he took the
Pokedex and Poke’ balls.
Chapter 3
Justin came out of the door as angry as a Snorlax that just got woken up.
Everyone was cheering and saying, “Way to go Justin! Yeah!”
Justin screamed as loud as he could, “I DIDN’T GET A POKEMON!!!!!!!”
After hearing that, al of the people left. All but one. It was hiss
best friend, Todd. “Hey Justin. That’s too bad about not getting
a pokemon. I guess I got lucky.” “What do you mean?” asked
Justin. “I got here early enough to get one.” “Which one?”
Justin queried. “It’s called a Charmander. Ya wanna see him?”
“Of course!” Justin replied. “Charmander come out!” Todd said as
he threw his poke’ ball. A red blob of light came out of the ball and
the dinosaur with it’s tail on fire emerged. “Wow! Now I really
wish I would’ve gotten one!” exclaimed Justin. “I’m sorry to leave
you in the dust Justin, but I really need to start on my pokemon journey.
Maybe we’ll catch up to each other one day. Good luck to you Justin.”
“You too Todd. See you around.” Justin said sadly. As the
two friends were just about to part, they heard a loud, painful noise.
EEEEEEEEVEEEEEEE!!!!! It was an ear splitting noise that both of the boys
reacted to immediately. They both bolted to the source of the noise,
following the sound. They finally came to a clearing where a small brown
pokemon was getting beat up by 5 Mankeys. “We have to save it Todd!”
screamed Justin. “I have an idea. Let me see your new pokemon Todd!”
Todd quickly pulled the ball out of his pocket and gave it to Justin. He
pushed the button on it and it grew from the size of a golf ball to the size of
a softball. “Go, Charmander!” As the dinosaur like pokemon
emerged, it looked at Justin awaiting orders. “Ummm….. well… help
it!” Quickly, the Charmander spewed an enormous amount of fire at the
Mankeys. They were burnt to a crisp. They ran away as fast as their
little legs could take them. “Ha, you sure showed them up!” said
Todd. Justin ran to the hurt pokemon as Todd got his Charmander back in
its ball. “Hello there little guy. Are you all right? The
pokemon responded back with a happy “Eevee!” “I’m guessing
that’s your name huh?” “Eevee!” It replied. “Well I gotta
go”, said Todd. “I’ll see ya around”. “Wait!”,exclaimed
Justin. “I’ll come to the edge of town with you.” By the time they
got there, they realized that the Eevee had followed Justin all the way there.
“Would you like to be my pokemon?” Justin asked the creature. It
responded with an “Eeeev!” “Well Justin, looks like your gonna be
comin’ with me!” Todd exclaimed.
Chapter 4
As Todd, Justin and Eevee head towards Viridian City, Eevee starts to act weird.
“E E Vee! Vee Eeee!” “What is it Eevee?” asked Justin.
Todd and Justin were looking around when finally, Justin saw a Pidgey. He
pointed his Pokedex at it and an electronic voice said, ~PIDGEY, A BIRD POKEMON
THAT IS VERY GENTLE AND EASY TO CAPTURE. A GREAT POKEMON FOR BEGINNERS~
I’ll let you get this one Todd,” said Justin. “All right then.
Go! Charmander! Charmander, scratch attack!”commanded Todd.
The Pidgey went down hard. “Go! Poke’ ball!” Todd threw the
ball, trapping the Pidgey inside of it. It rolled around a little but then
made the best sound a Pokemon trainer can hear. PING! “ALL RIGHT!
I GOT MY FIRST POKEMON! WAY TO GO CHARMANDER!” ”Good job Todd!
Now I get the next one!”exclaimed Justin. Just as he said that, the
Pokemon that looked like a blue turtle came out from a patch of tall grass.
Justin pointed his Pokedex at it. ~SQURTLE, A WATER POKEMON THAT
POWERFULLY SPRAYS FOAM FROM IT’S MOUTH. APPROACH WITH CAUTION~
“Sounds like my kind of challenge,” said Justin confidently. “Go!
Eevee!” Eevee ran towards the Squirtle . “Eevee, quick
attack!” Eevee quickly ran around the pokemon while landing attacks.
The Squirtle was so dizzy it fell over. It didn’t even land a hit on
Eevee. “Go! Poke’ ball!” Justin threw the ball,
capturing his first Pokemon. PING! “All right! Way to go
Eevee!” yelled Justin. “Now that we both have a new Pokemon, we should
really get a move on if we want to get to Viridian by night fall Justin.”
“You’re right Todd. We should get going.”
Chapter 5
The boys reached the city by 8:00. Their Pokemon were very tired so they
found there way to the Pokemon Center as fast as they could. “Hello
there. My name is Nurse Joy. How can I assist you boys tonight?”
said a pretty lady at the front desk. “Can you heal our Pokemon for
us?” asked Todd. “Of course!” she said with a smile. “Just put
your Poke’ balls in this container.” The boys put their three poke’
balls in the holder and Justin gave Eevee to Nurse Joy. “I never put him
in a Poke’ ball. Can you heal him anyways?” “Sure!”
she replied. “We just had a boy come in that’s Pikachu wouldn’t go in his
ball but we can always help any Pokemon in any condition. It really
doesn’t look like it’s going to make it.” “Thanks Joy, and tell
the boy with the Pikachu that I hope it feels better!” “All right.
That’s very nice of you. You can go wait in the lobby. We’ll be done
in a jiffy.” Justin sat down beside an old man that looked like he had
his eyes closed. “Hello there boy.” He said to Justin.
“Hello”, he said back. “I have a boy your age.” He said. “His
name is Brock. He’s the Gym Leader at Pewter City. Do you know
him?” “No I’m sorry I haven’t seen him yet. But when I get
to Pewter City, I’ll challenge him.” “He’s pretty good though.
You may have trouble beating him. Or at least that’s what I heard.
I haven’t seen him since he was 3. I left to be a trainer but now I’m
a failure. I guess I wasn’t cut out to be a Pokemon trainer.”
“I’m sorry sir, but we really have to get going. It was nice meeting
you.” Justin walked up to the front desk to ask Nurse Joy if his Pokemon
were healed yet. They were, so Justin and Todd left the Pokemon Center.
When they got a pretty good ways away, the looked back to take one last look at
the town. As they did, the Pokemon Center exploded in a huge tower of
flames. They could make out a funny looking Pokemon and two humans flying
up in the air and didn’t see them come back down. They figured they
didn’t want to stay and see what that was all about so they left on their way
to Viridian Forest.
Chapter 6
When the group arrived in the forest, they immediately saw a bug Pokemon that
looked like a caterpillar. Justin pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it at
the Pokemon. ~CATERPIE, A BUG POKEMON THAT HAS SUCTION CUPS FOR FEET.
IT CAN WALK UPSIDEDOWN WITHOUT FALLING~ “Sounds like a good one to
me,” said Justin. “Caterpie, you’re mine! Go Eevee! Eevee,
tackle!” Eevee’s attack missed as Caterpie used string shot on Eevee.
He was all tied up and unable to move (like when Ash wins his first Pokemon
battle against Team Rocket) so Justin sent out Squirtle instead.
“Squirtle, bubble attack!” Squirtle fired millions of bubbles at
Caterpie making it unable for it to see. “Finish it off with a water gun
Squirtle!” Squirtle shot a powerful spray of water from its mouth,
knocking the bug Pokemon against a tree. Justin threw a Poke’ ball at
the Caterpie, capturing his second Pokemon. “All right!” exclaimed
Justin. “Good job Squirtle,” said Todd to the water Pokemon.
After Squirtle’s water gun washed all of the string off of Eevee, the two
trainers resumed their trek through the woods. As they continued walking,
they heard a brustling in a bush to their left. Both of the boys pulled
out a Poke’ ball awaiting the danger that would emerge.
Chapter 7
As Justin and Todd ready their Poke’ balls awaiting the danger that lurks in
the bush, an Ekans and a Koffing jump out, knocking the two boys over.
“Prepare for trouble!”
“And make it double!”
“To protect the world from devastation,” said one voice.
“To unite all peoples within our nation,” said another.
“To denounce the evils of truth and love.”
“To extend our reach to the stars above.”
“Jessie!”
“James!”
“Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light! Surrender now or prepare
to…OUCH!!!!!” they both said in unison as they were scratched by a strange
looking Pokemon.
“That’s not them you lame brains!” it said.
“Oh, I guess you’re right,” said James.
“But you didn’t have to scratch us Meowth!” said Jessie as she kicked it.
“Who are they?” Todd asked Justin.
“I don’t know but that motto is pretty lame,” he replied.
“Even though it’s not the Pikachu kid, now we have a reason to fight
them!” exclaimed Jessie.
“Go! Koffing!” yelled James.
“Ekans! Attack!” said Jessie immediately after.
“All right Eevee. This is our first battle! Don’t let me
down!” said Justin. Eevee nodded his head in response.
“Go! Pidgey!” screamed Todd as he threw the Poke’ ball.
“WOW! AN EEVEE!” exclaimed Team Rocket at the same time. “THAT
COULD MEAN BIG BUCKS FOR US!”
“Meowth! Grab that Eevee!” said Jessie.
“Not so fast Meowth! Pidgey! Whirlwind them out of here!” yelled
Todd. Pidgey made a tornado out of sand and blew Team Rocket way up into
the sky.
“MAYBE WE SHOULD JUST STICK WITH GOING AFTER THE PIKACHUUUUUUUUUUUU!” the
screamed as the got farther and farther away.
“Thanks a lot Todd! They almost got Eevee!” said Justin thankfully.
“That’s OK! It was nothing!” he replied.
Chapter 8
The next day, after they both got some sleep, they woke up early to look for new
Pokemon. They weren’t very successful. Todd caught a Kakuna and
Justin didn’t find any Pokemon at all. As they were walking through the
woods though, they came to a field where hundreds of Beedrills were lying on the
ground and there were spores all around them.
“What happened here?” asked Todd
“I don’t know but we better get out of here before they wake up!” he said
in return.
Justin turned around, only to be looking at a sword blade pointed directly at
his face.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!” he screamed.
“My name is Samura,” said the wielder of the blade. “Are you the
fourth trainer from Pallet Town I have heard of?” he asked.
“Uuhh yeah, I’m from Pallet,” Justin replied.
“Then I challenge you to a Pokemon battle!”
“OK! I’ll fight you!”
“I just hope you are not as experienced as the last trainer from Pallet I
battled. He was incredible. He handled his Pokemon so well right
after it had evolved.”
“Well none of my Pokemon have evolved but I’ll do my best to show that I’m
as good, or even better than any trainer that has ever come from Pallet!”
exclaimed Justin
“Eev!” said Eevee in response.
In about five minutes, the trainers found a spot suitable for a battle.
“Let’s begin the battle! Two Pokemon each!” yelled Samura.
“Go! Metapod!”
“Metapod? What is that?” queried Justin. He pointed his Pokedex
at the Pokemon.
~METAPOD, A COCOON POKEMON THAT ONLY HAS ONE ATTACK. IT IS CALLED HARDEN.
METAPOD IS THE EVOLVED FORM OF CATERPIE ~
“Hey, I’ll have one of those soon!” thought Justin to himself.
“OK! Go! Squirtle!”
“Metapod! Harden!” yelled Samura. Metapod started glowing and
when it stopped, it was all shiny.
“Squirtle! Break its shell with skull bash!” screamed Justin.
Squirtle used the attack, totally destroying Metapod’s shell. “Finish
it off with a water gun attack!” Squirtle fired a powerful blast of
water at the bug Pokemon as Samura looked on helplessly.
“Metapod return!” said Samura as he got the injured Pokemon back in it’s
ball. He then threw another one.
“Go! Pinsir!”
Justin remembered seeing a Pinsir on a commercial for the Safari Zone in Fuchsia
City once so he didn’t need to use his Pokedex.
“Squirtle! Go in your shell!” said Justin.
Squirtle looked back at him seeming very confused.
“Just do it!” Justin commanded.
Squirtle obeyed and when Pinsir tried to crunch him in his claws, they
completely broke off.
“All right! We did it!”
“Congratulations. You performed well with your Squirtle. Compared
to you, I am a novice.”
“That’s OK, you did your best,” Justin replied.
After Justin and Todd said their good byes, thy finally make it out of the
forest. As soon as they step out, they spot the Pokemon that had a plant on its
back running after a pokemon with a swirl on it’s stomach. Justin pulled
out his Pokedex.
~BULBASAUR, A PLANT/POISON POKMON THAT HAS A SEEED PLANTED ON IT’S BACK AT
BIRTH. APPROACH WITH EXTREME CAUTION~
Right after, Todd pulled out his Pokedex and pointed it at the other Pokemon.
~POLIWHIRL, A WATER POKEMON THAT EVOLVES FROM A POLIWAG. IT EVOLVES WITH A
WATER STONE INTO THE MOR POWERFUL POLIWRATH~
“Let’s catch ‘em Todd! I call the Bulbasaur!” said Justin.
“OK! Go! Pidgey!” yelled Todd as he threw the Poke’ ball.
“Pidgey, sky attack!”
Pidgey flew high into the air and swooped down, nailing the Poliwhirl in the
head with its beak. Poliwhirl returned with a hydro pump knocking Pidgey
out of the sky. When Pidgey got up, it used a gust attack and Todd threw
the Poke’ ball and caught the Poliwhirl.
“Go! Caterpie!” said Justin. “Use string shot Caterpie!”
The Pokemon obeyed and the Bulbasaur was stopped cold.
“Now tackle it Caterpie! When Caterpie tackled the Pokemon, it went
flying in the air and landed hard on the ground.
“Go! Poke’ ball!” Justin threw the ball, capturing his first
grass Pokemon.
“We both got one Todd!” exclaimed Justin.
“No, we both got two!”
“What?” asked a confused Justin.
“Look!” Todd replied pointing at Caterpie and Pidgey.
They were both glowing and when the stopped, they were two different Pokemon.
Metapod and Pidgeotto!
“Whoa! That was cool!”
The boys returned their new Pokemon and went on their way to Pewter City.
Chapter 9
When Justin, Todd and Eevee enter Pewter City, they start to
look for a place to stay.
“Do you see any hotels to stay at for tonight Justin?”
asked Todd.
“Not one,” he replied.
“Did I hear someone say they needed a place to stay?”
asked a pretty woman with blue hair.
“Yes we’re looking for a place to stay tonight.” said
Todd.
“Well then hop on my motorcycle and I’ll take you to one.
By the way, my name is Officer Jenny. What are your names?” she asked.
“I’m Justin and this is Todd. We’re on a Pokemon
journey.”
“Your Pokemon trainers? OK then you don’t
need to stay in a hotel and pay money. You can stay in there!” she said
as she pointed across the street.
“In a Pokemon center?” asked a confused Todd.
“Yes! they let Pokemon trainers stay there over night for
free!”
“Thanks Officer Jenny!” they both said as they left.
Chapter 10
“Hello there!” said a familiar voice.
“Oh look Todd! It’s Nurse Joy! From Viridian
City!” exclaimed Justin.
“No, I’m not from Viridian City! That must be my
cousin you’re talking about.” She said.
“Well you both sure look alike. Is it OK if we stay
here tonight? Officer Jenny told us Pokemon trainers can stay here for
free.” Said Justin.
“Of course you can. There is a room down that hall
that has no one in it. It is the first one to the right.” She said.
“Thank you Joy!”
Todd, Justin and Eevee headed to their room. As they
walk in, Justin and Todd immediately fall on their beds, falling asleep.
The next morning, they wake up to go see the city.
“Later on, do you want to go to the Gym and get a badge?
Asked Justin excitedly.
“Sure,” answered Todd.
“Prepare for trouble,”
“And make it double”.
“Not this again,” said Todd.
“Wait a minute. That’s not Jessie and James!”
exclaimed Justin.
“To connect the world to devastation!” said one voice.
“To untie all peoples within our nation.” said
another.
“To announce the evils of truth and love.”
“To extend our rule to the stars above!”
“Kerrie!”
“Kyle!”
“Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!”
“Surrender now or prepare to fight!”
“Who are you?” asked Justin.
“Didn’t you here the motto stupid?” asked an angry
Kerrie.
“We’re Team Rocket! We’re just a lot smarter and
better than those stupid wannabes Jessie and James!” said Kyle.
“The Boss sent us after your Eevee because Jessie and James
can’t handle you. The Boss sent them after that kid with the Pikachu.”
Said Kerrie.
“Oh so you want to battle?” asked Justin.
“You bet. Hand over the Eevee or prepare to get
creamed!” said Kyle.
“Let’s hope this plan works,” whispered Kyle to Kerrie.
“If we get that other kid, the Eevee will be a lot easier to steal.”
“Right. I’ll fight off the other one while you get
him.” she whispered back. “Go! Magmar!” she screamed.
Justin pulled out his Pokedex to identify the Pokemon.
~MAGMAR, A FIRE POKEMON THAT GLOWS ORANGE TO HIDE IN FLAMES.
IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO FIGHT ONE IN THE WILD~
“A fire Pokemon huh? Than I’ll use a water one.
Go! Squirtle!” said Justin as he threw a Poke’ ball.
“Magmar, flame thrower attack!” yelled Kerrie.
“Squirtle dodge it!” Squirtle just barely managed
to get out of the way of the blast.
As the battle raged on, Kyle sneaked up behind Todd and
grabbed him. Kerrie saw him start to run away and returned her Magmar and
ran off.
“I guess we scared them away Squirtle! Good job!
Did you see that Todd? Todd? Where did you go?”
Justin looked all around the city all day and still
couldn’t find him. After finally getting tired of looking, he headed
back to the Pokemon center at about 8:00. Todd and Eevee walked back into
their room, hoping to find Todd waiting for them in the room but he wasn’t.
“What are we going to do Eevee?” asked Justin.
Eevee shrugged his shoulders with a sad “Eeeeev….”
“Maybe we’ll find him tomorrow on the way to the Gym.”
They both fell asleep, hoping that they would soon find Todd.
Chapter 11
When Justin and Eevee woke up, they started off for the Gym.
“Well I don’t see Todd anywhere so let’s head for the
Gym,” said Justin “Remember that guy I the Viridian City Pokemon Center?
He told me the Gym leader, Brock, is pretty good. You think we could beat
him?”
“Eev!” replied Eevee.
“I guess that means yes. Well we better go to the
Gym!”
As Justin and Eevee enter the Gym, they see that there’s a
person sitting in a large chair.
“My name is Justin, from Pallet Town and I want a Pokemon
battle for the Boulder Badge!” exclaimed Justin.
“You came to challenge me?” said a girl’s voice.
“Wait I thought the gym leader here was Brock!”
“Well I’m Brock’s sister, Jade.” Said a pretty girl.
“He left to go on a Pokemon journey with two kids named Ash and Misty so I’m
taking his place since our dad showed up. I was the oldest and had the
most powerful Pokemon so dad let’s me run the Gym now.”
“OK. Enough talking. Let’s get to the
battle.” Said Justin anxiously.
“All right. Come with me to the main room.”
She said.
When they got there, a giant rocky battlefield came out from
the walls.
“How many Pokemon?” asked Justin.
“How about two?” Jade queried.
“That’s fine with me. Go! Bulbasaur!”
yelled Justin as he threw his Poke’ ball.
“Go! Geodude!” Jade said as he threw hers.
“Bulbasaur! Vine whip!” commanded Justin.
Two vines came out from behind the grass Pokemon’s back,
whipping the Geodude in the head, causing it to faint.
“Geodude, return! You won’t get so lucky with this
next one! Go! Jigglypuff!” yelled Jade. “Jigglypuff!
Use your sing attack!”
Jigglypuff started to sing a song and Bulbasaur fell asleep.
“Bulbasaur return! Go! Eevee!” screamed
Justin.
Eevee ran out to the battlefield. Jigglypuff tried to
put Eevee asleep too, but he covered his ears so it wouldn’t effect him.
“Eevee! Bite attack!” commanded Justin
Eevee bit Jigglypuff hard on the side.
“Finish it off with tackle, Eevee!”
Eevee tackled Jigglypuff sending him flying into one of the
rocks, making him faint.
“Alright! We did it! We got our first badge!”
exclaimed Justin.
“Good work Justin. Here is the Boulder Badge.”
She handed him the badge and he pinned it on his vest.
“Thanks. Well, I’ve got to be going now so..”
“Wait Justin!”
“Yeah what is it?”
Well you see, my dad Flint wants me to go on a Pokemon
journey like Brock so I can follow in his footsteps. The only thing is, I
don’t want to be a trainer. I want to be a Pokemon doctor.”
“And you’re telling me this because….”
“Because I don’t have any friends since I’ve been
helping with my little brothers and sisters all day for the past 11 years.
And you seem to be nice, and you really love your Pokemon…. I was wondering
if…. Ummmm… can I come with you on your Pokemon Journey? I promise I
won’t get in the way. PLEEEEEEEEASE?”
“Yeah sure. I’d love the company. Is that OK
with you Eevee?”
“Eeeev! Eeeevee!” said Eevee happily as he rubbed
up against Jade’s leg.
“Justin, I’ve got to go say goodbye to everyone at the
house so I’ll meet you at the Pokemon Center in an hour all right?” said
Jade.
“OK. See ya then.”
As Justin and Eevee head towards the Pokemon Center, Justin
spots something yellow eating an apple on the side of the path. Justin
pointed his Pokedex at it.
~SANDSHREW, A GROUND POKEMON. IT DIGS FAR UNDERGROUND
TO PROTECT ITSELF FROM PREDATORS. IT ONLY COMES OUT TO EAT.~
“Hmmm.. I don’t have any ground Pokemon. But
in a few seconds I will! Go! Metapod!”
The Sandshrew heard the ruckus and went underground for
protection.
“Man! It ran away!”
Just as he said that, the Sandshrew popped up out from the
ground and nailed Metapod, sending it flying. The Sandshrew was shaking
its finger at Justin while sticking his tongue out and taunting him. It
was very cocky. Sandshrew was so busy laughing at Justin, he didn’t
realize that Metapod was coming back down to Earth. It nailed Sandshrew
right in the head, knocking him unconscious.
“Poke’ ball! Go!” yelled Justin as he threw the
ball. It shook for a minute but then stopped with a PING!
“All right! Way to go Metapod!”
As Justin was looking at his new Pokemon, Metapod started to
glow. Soon after, it parted and a Pokemon with wings came out of the
shell. Justin pointed his Pokedex at it.
~BUTTERFREE, A BUG/FLYING POKEMON. WHEN IN DANGER, IT
FLAPS IT’S WINGS QUICKLY, RELEASING THOUSANDS OF SPORES.~
“Cool! My first flying Pokemon!”
Justin returned all of his new Pokemon into their Poke’
balls and headed back to the Pokemon center to get his belonging and to meet
Jade. In about a half-hour they were on their way to Mt. Moon.
